We answered the call to ministry in Haiti in 1998. In 2004, as support for the work grew, we formed the US charity "Haiti Lifeline Ministries Inc" a 501 C/3 organization. HLM is the US support organization for the Centre Children Internation Lifeline Orphange in Croix des Bouquet, Haiti. In addition to raising support for the orphanage, we send a large shipment of food, clothing, educational supplies, and construction supplies each year. During the months of January thru March we send short term teams to Haiti that work at the orphanage and in outlying areas. The orphanage is home to 86 orphans (a number of which have come to the states after the quake that were nearly completed or pending adoptions). The Lifeline Orphanage is also a lifeline to the outlying community providing fresh water, food distribution, a small medical clinic for basic needs, and an elementary Christian school for the orphans of Lifeline and the outlying community.

We did have a team of 20 people at the orphanage at the time of the quake. The orphanage is approximately 16 miles from the epicenter and received minimal damage. There were no injuries at Lifeline for which we are very grateful. We did have some perimeter security walls that crumbled but they are nearly repaired. We are grateful for the US marine security that has been provided during this time. There is some building damage that will need to be repaired but not major structural damage. We do have need for a new diesel powered generator set to provide all our power needs since the public utilities are no longer in service. This power supply is essential for pumping water from our largest water well in the compound. We will be going to Haiti with a team of 18 the first half of March, 2010.

More information is availabe at our website www.haitilifelineministries.com . Thank you for your prayerful support during these difficult days in Haiti.   John & Elaine Ratzlaff

My brother Roger Clark and his wife Margaret have been missionaries in Port-au-Prince, Haiti for 24 years with Elim Fellowship. They have a Bible School, ten churches and seven Christian Schools. Margaret also works in a clinic. Praise God, Roger and Margaret are fine and their home and Bible School were only slightly damaged, but some of their churches, Christian schools, and pastor's homes were destroyed along with many church members homes. They are busy with relief efforts and hosting medical and construction teams.

You can keep up with their news at www.newlifehaiti.blogspot.com.You can send donations to Elim Fellowship 1703 Dalton Road, Lima NY 14485 designated for "Roger Clark Haiti Relief."

We are taking donations to help 1,500 of our brothers and sisters in Christ whom have lost their homes and are living at a resettlement camp. You can read about it and donate here: http://blog.heavensfamily.org/haiti-earthquake-firsthand-report/.

We have two orphanages that we work with in Haiti, and thankfully God's hand was on them and neither suffered any damage.

I am helping with reconstruction planning for Haiti.   I would appreciate prayer for wisdom in making simple plans and graphics about safe building techniques that are culturally appropriate to Haiti.I am a volunteer landscape architect and building designer with Wycliffe Associates, but in the past I assisted with a proposal to the UN for an emergency shelter system. The people I worked with on this are receiving requests for designs and training for this alternative material (using earth in sandbags) to be used in Haiti's reconstruction. I also hope to be able to travel to assist training as much as God desires.

We also hope to package materials for one house (bags, barbed wire, tarp?) in a 55 gallon drum adapted for rainwater storage. I don't have donation specifics yet.

The places of ministry , orphanages, schools and church buildings connected with the pastor I work with have been either destroyed or damaged!

I have been working (taking construction teams down yearly) with a Haitian Pastor for the past 11 years. He has started and sustained 4 rural churches in different remote parts of Haiti. He also has both a boys and girls orphanage. Each church also has a school. As a result of the earthquake, two of the locations have lost both the church and school buildings. Both the orphanages are damaged. They will need our financial help to rebuild. It has take the last 12 years to get them to where they are now, and now they have to start over! Anyone interested in giving financially or helping in the actual construction can contact me. Dale Halteman at dvhalteman@gmail.com or phone at 215-234-9335. Any gifts are tax deductible.

We are involved in educating the children. The churches where we conduct the schooling have been destroyed and we are unable to get much information on our students and their families. And the director of our schools (though he and his family are ok) his house was completely destroyed. We are in the process of raising funds to rebuild the home of our school director as well as funds to help the families of our students purchase basic essentials for living.

Funds can be sent to Project Missions, c/o Terry Phillips, PO Box 1131, Springfield, OH 45501

We have a marketing business, in which many Haitian families have been learning how to run their own businesses. We have been to Haiti many times, teaching & helping them understand & operate a business. We work with many people with different occupations - bankers, electricians, physicians, teachers, & common laborers, all of who want to learn free enterprise. All of their businesses, of course, have been impacted, through loss of lives, homes, etc. They continue to have great faith, through it all, with vision for the future.

Donations, perhaps, through Convoy of Hope, or other organizations such as this would be helpful.

Our current housing was destroyed while we were inside-we had no injuries. Our new apartment that we were almost finished building was destroyed-no insurance in Haiti. Our medical clinic is mostly destroyed. We are working long hours doing medical work in our clinic and then surviving. Updates on our website as well as facebook: Christianville Earthquake Update. Donate to Haiti Health Ministries. 100% of donations go to the clinic or direct patient care. All missionaries have their own support and our office staff are volunteers. We were 5 miles from epicenter. Almost all buildings on the compound were destroyed. Our medical clinic will need to be rebuilt and all our clinic missionaries need new housing. Praise God that no one was seriously injured.

Haiti Lifeline Ministries (http://www.haitilifelineministries.com/) is a Stateside mission that serves an orphanage in Croix-des-Bouquets, called Centre Children International Life Line d'Haiti 8 miles from Port-au-Prince. A crew including my son Scott McFall was there to help the orphanage before the earthquake hit. The crew and 7 adopted orphans made national attention when they returned from Haiti after the earthquake. The orphanage serves the community as a resource distribution point for clean water and food in the name of Christ. Haiti Lifeline Ministries is trying to get more resources to the orphanage for distribution in the wake of devastation following the earthquake. You can pray for the protection of the children and the ministry of the orphanage as a center for relief efforts for this devastated country. Pray for the ministry of the gospel as people's needs are met. You can give money to Haiti Lifeline Ministries http://www.haitilifelineministries.com/ and volunteer for work teams and adopt children into loving homes.

Just wanted to drop a note to take advantage of those prayers.  I am proud to be a part of the Medi-Share family and consider it a blessing in my life.  I am a Podiatric surgeon and have been a board member of a surgical group that goes to countries in need of medical care.  Light of the World Charities www.lightoftheworldcharities.com has been serving the poor for 10 years with the mission statement "to do for the least of my brethren".  We are committed to serve those who would otherwise go without.  When I read of the request from Medi-Share, I quickly thought "What couldn't we accomplish with the prayers of so many faithful people."  We must always pray with the confidence of a child that our Father hears us, knowing that He will guide the way.
God Bless,   Paul Schoppe

*please remember to include the unborn, their mothers and fathers, and the awakening of our society in your prayers.

Our church team was in Haiti building a new church in Jacmel.  Their plane left at about 12:30 on Monday, and the quake was about 5:00.  The pastor in Haiti is a national.  The Mission Board's website is www.missonforhaiti.org   The ministry is based in Greenville, SC  and the Directors are Tom and Sarah Bennett.  The local pastors name is called Pastor D.   This is a very solid ministry.  My sons have been going there for work for about 4 years, concentrating on new church building and repair of old ones.  The best thing to do if you need info to contact the ministry directly. The best thing to do would be to contact the ministry directly at www.missionforhaiti.org  Tom or Sarah Bennett would be able to answer specific needs questions better than I.

Three major witch doctors have been wonderfully saved in the last two years.  About 45 nationals have been saved in the last two weeks.  Pray the their needs will be met.  Several were killed in the quake

Our son Jonathan Cotton, who is a trauma nurse, is currently in Haiti serving in a makeshift clinic right across from the destroyed government buildings in dowtown PAP. He has been there since last Wednesday and plans on returning home when a relief team can get there. He was sent by our church with a missionary and doctor from our church, found out about this clinic through another missionary there, Pastor Herod, and joined them in their efforts. Supplies are few, but he says God keeps them coming, and they have been able to treat whoever comes. The group that he's working with is connected with Youth with a Mission. Prayers would be appreciated.

My church Free Chapel in Gainesville, Georgia  currently is funding 540,000 meals per month in Haiti through Love A Child Ministry, pastors Bob and Sherry Burnett. We did this all of 2009. After the earthquake we sent $100,000 of additional monies to provide additional help. We haven't had any trouble so far in getting either the funds or the food to the Haitian people through this ministry. We talked to the missionary  pastors through Skype last week and the situation is terrible down there. Our church's web site is www.freechapel.org

Our church, New Hope Ministries, sends teams down to several locations in Haiti during the year. We have served at Love A Child in Fond Parisien, and we have a mission compound just south of Leogane. One of our pastors is on his way down there tomorrow and will be staying a month. We were suppose to go with him on this trip but, because of the earthquake, are not allowed to go at this time. I will be going down as soon as I'm allowed to help out with a small orphanage near Leogane and also help build a church there in memory of my nephew who died unexpectedly this past November. There are now over 1 million orphans in Haiti. We know of family members of one of the pastors, Pastor Joseph, who died in the quake. Our hearts go out to them.  The villages west of Port-au-Prince have been the last ones to receive aid, and they were hit the hardest. The big aftershock was actually right where they are. We know of 100 people at St. Bernadette Church who were caught in the building when it collapsed. Gratefully, our pastor who able to call and direct help to them. The grounds at Love A Child receive up to 1,000 people a day needing medical attention. They needs are great.

Prayer is the first thing needed. Don't underestimate the power of prayer. Next, money donations are needed. One of our pastors down there just this Monday delivered 5000 lbs. of rice and beans to the people near Leogane. Money is needed to purchase these food supplies and water, and prices have escalated in the DR as merchants there are taking advantage of this tragedy. Also, doctors and nurses are needed, and medical supplies. If anyone wants to donate funds for the Haiti Disaster Relief, the foundation that we use is HMI (Humanitarian Ministries, Inc.) If you like, I can share further details about where to send the donations.
Thank you so much.

If members want to help, They can contact a Christian organization in Haiti call New Missions. www.newmissions.org.

This is an organization of great integrity and has helped thousands of children for over twenty years.  My wife and I sponsor two children in Haiti. The little girl that we sponsored, Michele did not make it.

On October on the 18th our 5 yr old son Gabriel was killed in an accident on the way to church here in Haiti. Tim and our daughter Sarah were injured and we were flown by Mission Flights International to Florida and then on to Illinois from there.
We were able to travel back to Haiti one month after the accident and have been in the country ever since.

We were ticketed to fly with our family and our friends of 23 yrs who are Haitian to help them rebuild after the hurricanes.  We have 9 tickets which were booked for flights in Oct. to depart 2/11 that have been canceled by the State Dept.  The mission home where we were to stay with a family from our area who lives there collapsed and over 20 Christians died.  7 others survived with their young baby, we're thankful to the Lord for that.

Donations can be made towards rebuilding 3-4 houses that we know of that were destroyed or uninhabitable. One is a lady with three children. They took the tin off of the roof of her old house and made a little shelter for them. Her name is Madam TiDimanche.

Donations can be made in her name, made out to Spirit & Sword Ministries, 4093 Mission Bell Dr., Boynton Beach, FL 33436.
Our tax number is 31-1506470.

Our ministry, Spirit & Sword Ministries, has an office in Petionville and we have a half dozen Haitian employees there. They are all safe, but three of them lost their homes. So please pray for them. Thank you.

As you can see from the above entries, we do have members in Haiti who have been directly impacted by the earthquake.  In addition, we had  members request specific prayer for organizations they are associated with.

Please pray for the members above and if you feel led to do so, you can directly donate to them using the information in their blog entry.  We would love to hear if you did donate, so please specify when donating that you are a Medi-Share member.   Check back on this page for updates on these members, as well as any new requests that come our way.

God bless you from Christian Care Ministry!
